Dear Sir/Madam,

　　This is XXX from XXX University writing you a letter with great pleasure. I am a postdoctoral research associate at XXX University. Here my wife and I would like to invite my mother to visit us in May, 2008. I am busy doing my researches now and have no time to go back to China. My joint advisors (Prof XXX and Prof. XXX at XXX University) hope I can finish my project within the next one and half years. Therefore it would be wonderful if we can spend some time with my mother and show her around at XXX University.

　　My mother is illiterate and lives in a small village in XXX Province. She even can’t speak Mandarin very well. But she is the greatest mother in the world. I really miss my mother very much. I came here in July, 2006 and I have not yet seen her for about 2 years. I believe it would be a wonderful reunion if she could get B-2 visa and join us for the best season in XXX. We may visit Chicago and Detroit, the two major cities close by as well.

　　My father and my younger brother’s family are still in China. My parents are looking after their 3-year-old grandson (my brother’s son). My mother enjoys her life very much with her husband and grandson in my hometown. She comes here just because she misses me and my wife. She will go back to China after she stays here for 6 months.
